Top Android Apps - Which Are The Most Popular?

What are the most popular Android apps? Check out our infographic to find out.

According to Yahoo Android phone users have an average of 95 apps installed on their phones. It may seem a lot but once you take into account all the pieces of software necessary to keep your mobile ticking over (caller messaging camera email calendar power saver security etc.) the numbers soon start to add up.

Next you’ve got those apps that might not be essential from a technical point of view (in other words your phone would work perfectly well without them) – it’s just that most of us wouldn’t want to be without them in real life. Facebook is probably the best example; others include YouTube and Skype. You tend to find that these come bundled in with your new phone as standard.

Games shopping apps music streaming work and study tools: it’s easy to build up a big collection over time. Bearing in mind that you need room for things like photos and music downloads a quick clean-up is in order once in a while to avoid app overload.

Think smart by aiming for all killer no filler. First off go to your Settings menu scroll through your downloaded apps and uninstall the stuff you never use.

Next ask yourself whether you’re missing out on anything. Is there a personal organiser out there that will help you get your life sorted? Is there an internet radio station with your name on it? To help you with this we’ve prepared a handy ‘greatest hits’ compilation in the form of an Android apps infographic. These are the world’s most popular Android apps according to the number of global downloads along with a breakdown by category.

So take a look read our summary of each app and if you like the sound of it follow the link to the Google Play Store. Are there any apps that you can’t do without and which you think deserve a place in our list? Let us know in the comments box below.
